To support the Health and Wellbeing of our students and to provide an enhanced level of healthcare, RCSI Bahrain operates a  mandatory group health insurance scheme for international students (defined as students who do not hold a Bahrain or GCC passport) which begins on the 1st October each year.

All international students are required to complete the Student Health Insurance form to indicate whether they wish to opt-in or opt-out. The form can be accessed by one of two ways:

Access the form directly using the link:

International students wishing to opt-out must provide proof of valid health insurance cover and are responsible for renewing the health insurance policy upon its expiry. RCSI Bahrain are unable to add students to the RCSI Health Insurance Scheme part-way through the coverage period.

Please note that any international student who has not completed the form  by the submission deadline , will be automatically enrolled in the RCSI Health Insurance Scheme and the fees become payable.

Submission deadline is the 10th of September 2026 ( For Master’s in Nursing 31st January 2027).

The Insurance Provider for the RCSI Health Insurance Scheme is currently Solidarity Bahrain B.S.C The Insurance Scheme is tailored to provide an excellent level of cover whilst ensuring that the insurance cost is as competitive as possible which is why RCSI Bahrain will go to the market each year.

Key aspects of the existing insurance scheme are as follows:

  1. The insurance scheme covers 100% of costs (except for the deductible of the first BD5) if attending a hospital or health centre on the Approved Network list.
  2. Further details of the cover are included in the list of benefits.
  3. We endeavour to maximise the benefits to students under this scheme and reserve the right to amend the benefits as necessary before the scheme begins.

As the insurance scheme is subject to annual review, the above aspects are subject to revision once the scheme is finalised with the provider.

The cost of this health insurance scheme is BD288.00 (inclusive of 10% VAT) per student for the period from 1st October 2026 to 30th September 2027. The amount is subject to review depending on the group price that is issued by the Insurance provider.
