Student Health and Wellbeing provides a range of holistic health, lifestyle and wellness services to support student success at RCSI Bahrain. Supporting Students’ Physical, Psychological and Emotional Wellbeing is our priority.

Our services include:

  • Providing a compassionate, inclusive and student-centred service.
  • Offering professional advice and guidance on health management, fitness, and health-related matters.
  • Supporting students with disabilities, whether permanent or temporary, according to our Reasonable Accommodation policy.
  • Focus on the psycho-social aspects of student life, including the fostering of positive mental health and self-care practices so that students are well-equipped as resilient and independent learners.
  • A safe and welcoming space where students can access confidential counselling on campus. Along with operating a referral system to external counselling professionals.
  • Managing confidential student health files which include infectious disease screening and immunization requirements of students.
  • Organise educational health and wellbeing initiatives, events and activities throughout the academic year to promote optimal health and wellbeing for students as future global healthcare practitioners.

RCSI Bahrain offers a confidential counselling service on campus and provides a referral system to a range of professional counselling specialists such as clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists. There are also self-help resources available online, and all students have access to the Headspace App. The Student Health and Wellbeing team are always ready to listen to any concerns.

All international students must have medical insurance coverage. The university provides a group medical insurance scheme at a very competitive rate. Students will be invited to either join this scheme or provide a copy of existing insurance cover. This is to ensure that our international students always have access to world-class medical care and receive the best medical attention while they are studying in Bahrain.

Learning Communities Survey – For MED YEAR 1 (5 year programme) students only

In preparation for Year 1, we would like to provide you with the option to be grouped with one other student whom you may know.
As you may already know, for the Year 1 Medicine programme, students will be grouped into 4 Learning Communities.  Each Learning Community will have a total of 4 sub groups and its in these subgroups, you will live your RCSI journey.

Please complete the this form, if you would like to be grouped with 1 x other student for Year 1.
Please note that groups will be auto assigned across the 4 x Year 1 learning communities, so if you do not wish to be grouped with a particular friend or family member, you are not required to complete this form.

Unfortunately, we are only able to facilitate one grouping request per student. (Unfortunately we are unable to consider requests for larger groupings).

We would kindly ask that 1 x representative submit this request on behalf of both students to be grouped together.  So we would be grateful if you can work together to facilitate this.

This form will close on Thursday 3rd September 2026.  (Any requests past this deadline will not be accepted).
